Colorado Day 2

Hey All!

Today we tried to sleep in, but gaining an hour and being at the start of a vacation makes that a bit hard. We work up and ate a good breakfast of oatmeal and eggs. We followed that with a weight training session since we knew we’d be getting plenty of walking in through our hike. 

We finally decided to load up and head to Garden of the God’s. This was our first hiking spot two years ago and we figured we should just make it a tradition and go back. It was just as beautiful, if not even more so than it was the last time we visited. So beautiful and green. Of course we chose the day that was going to be completely sunny with no cloud cover and in the 80’s to hit this place up. Haha! But it was so fun. Both of our favorite parts was having lunch at the same place we had lunch the last time. We sat at the same place and ate the same lunch! Yum. For lunch we had turkey and guac sandwiches and a banana.

After about 2.5 hours of hiking we headed back to the AirBNB to shower off and get ready for our evening. We also spent time where Tony could focus on some of his writing, I could focus on a bit of blogging and pick up a good book. 

For dinner we decided to head back to a place we’ve talked about regularly since our visit two years ago. That place is Saigon Grill and is a Vietnamese resturant. It wasn’t nearly as good as we remembered, but I also think it was because we weren’t able to eat dinner in so we didn’t have the fresh-food and atmosphere to play into our overall experience.

We ate at our AirBNB while watching Rocketman on Hulu (Tony and I both picked this movie...our only overlap to the movies we secretly chose for our trip). It was very good and another that we’d suggest people check out. I’d mainly suggest this to people who like Elton John and/or Musicals. 

Healthy Lifestyle Successes: We ate healthy at breakfast and lunch sticking with the food that we brought from home. We did a weight routine before going hiking to keepnup on our strength training. We had gone and bought cupcakes for dessert, but were so full we decided to save them for Day 3 instead of stuffing ourselves overly full! 

We plan to hike another spot we hit in 2018 for day 3 and I look forward to seeing what we end up doing in the area of dinner as well!
